I started journaling at 14 and bound my first book before I finished high school. I studied bookbinding in college and over the years, have made hundreds of books, from simple to complex. My favorites use beautiful leather and interesting papers, but no paste or glue; only thread to hold it together.

I must confess that I do not make my own handmade paper, however. That is a very time consuming process. Bookbinding also takes  more time than you'd imagine, which makes hand bound books a valuable and treasured gift.
